Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Regional Health Information Network are becoming the front area of medical and health informatization. The paper analyzes the connotation of EHR from the differences of EMR and EHR as well as their interrelation, introduces the research and practice status of EHR both in China and abroad, elaborates the significance of realizing EHR and at last points out the key problems which are to be resolved.
