The paper introduces the concept, content, current study direction and results of health literacy, expatiates on the meanings of higher health literacy, analyzes existing problems and sets forward corresponding countermeasures, including the popularization of health literacy education and its terminologies, the reinforcement of the exchange between doctors and patients and the intervention in and supervision on public health exerted by the society.
