The paper expounds the meaning of time cost of readers,points out that there is a close relationship between time cost of readers and library service.It analyzes the factors which are affecting time cost and puts forward saving countermeasures including strenghthening comprehensive literacy cultivation of librarians,innovating working mode,etc.
