The paper focuses on the discrepancy of medical informatics education between the United States and China through deepened analysis of education level, specialty design, research direction and scientific projects. It proposes a series of sustainable strategies for developing our medical informatics career from seven aspects, including: subject affiliation and research scopes, teaching demands, education levels, teaching modes, relevant staffs training, entrance standards and academic institutes.
