Aiming at the reference service and management status in medical library, the paper analyzes the difficulties and development, discusses the feasible measures to extend reference service under the network environment in medical library combining with the reference service practices from Institute of Preventive Medicine Information, CDC in Hubei province, including aligning the position, expanding the reference resources, carrying out various types of services based on the network,etc.
