The paper discusses the challenges to the traditional work of reader service in modern information environment, proposes a concrete operating mode of subject-based information services, including establishing a management mechanism for subject-based information services, strengthening subject librarian system, paying attention to propaganda and promotion of subject resources and service programs and reinforcing the training of user information competency,etc.
