The paper introduces features of ISI Web of Science, describes in detail its application in supporting scientific research which could be summarized as cited literature retrieval, general retrieval, selective dissemination of information service, citation tracking, reference management,etc. It also points out that application of the tool would improve researchers′ capability of acquiring information, so as to more effectively carry out research work .
