Abstract:Evidence-based medicine development opens a new service mode in medical libraries, while higher professional qualities are required so as to adapt to this kind of service. The paper analyzes what the basic professional literacy that librarians should have, including: the basic knowledges of evidence-based medicine, the basic knowledges of clinical medicine, computer application skills, medical statistics and communication skills,etc. It proposes the librarians′ professional literacy cultivation should be strengthened from various aspects, such as academic education, vocational education, continuing education, lifelong education, etc.
