The paper introduces the definition of half-life, elaborates the concepts of journal citation half-life, journal cited half-life as well as half-life of papers, discusses the relationship between journal half-life and other indexes, calculation methods of half-life, literature aging model, in order to fully reflect research status of half-life of literatures.
