The paper introduces the concept, function, language and construction tools of knowledge map, remains that this is an effective, convenient and visualized knowledge management mode, proposes some ideas and schemes on how to realize rational application and practice by adopting this tool in medical information area from the following aspects: knowledge acquirement, knowledge base and knowledge map construction, knowledge retrieval.
