The paper introduces the concept and researching fields of knowledge organization, expounds the concepts of MeSH and ontology as well as application characteristics in medical knowledge organization, discusses how to utilize MeSH and ontology theory in constructing surgery database, in order to provide services for the majority of medical staffs.
