The paper briefly introduces the importance of literature retrieval course for students in medical colleges and universities in the environment of information literacy education, analyzes the existing problems of literature retrieval course in nowadays. According to these problems it puts forward advices to improve teaching, including highlighting professional characteristics in teaching contents, combining multiple teaching methods and strengthening the teaching staffs construction, etc.
