The paper elaborates the concept and function of subject librarians, discusses the problems including knowledge structure and communication skills deficiency of librarians, lack of incentive mechanism, etc. Corresponding strategies for improvement are put forward, including strengthening training, establishing good relationship between librarians and readers, perfecting incentive mechanism, etc.
