Combining with English teaching theories and experiences, the paper discusses the syllabus development basis of English teaching for medical informatics specialty, puts forward design principles of teaching materials, design model of teaching materials and design model of the courses, points out that cooperative learning method is suitable for the teaching of English for specific purpose.
