The paper analyzes the connotation and characteristics of public health informatics, introduces public health informatics education and subject construction status both in China and in the USA, then compares their differences. It also analyzes the challenges in public health informatics education and subject development from the aspects of subject system construction, talents training, education mode and so on, developing countermeasures are also put forward.
