The paper introduces the concept, development and function of health information technology and translational medicine, elaborates there relationship concretely and analyzes their problems, points out that their combination is the only way to medical advances. It also briefly introduces an emerging interdisciplinary called translational bioinformatics, which is formed by health information technology and translational medicine combination.
