Through analysis of the statistics of sci-tech novelty assessment items in 2010 and 2011 in Library of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the paper discusses the role of relying on sci-tech novelty assessment to expand information services, then explores the strength, weakness, opportunity and challenge of relying on sci-tech novelty assessment to expand information services, and according to those, makes countermeasures.
