The paper introduces the process of biomedical literature text mining, emphasizes the applications of text mining in the drug research, mainly including drug name recognition, drug target discovery, evaluation of drug efficacy, regularity of traditional Chinese medicine in treatment. In the end, the problems of text mining in medical knowledge discovery are pointed out and the upcoming challenges and the opportunities of text mining in drug research are prospected.
