Combining with the practices in Guiyang No4 People′s Hospital, the paper introduces picture archiving and communication system (PACS) design status from the aspects of basic framework, interface and storage design. Based on the above it discusses the requirements for hardware, software and technical support in basic level hospital self-built PACS, the benefits are also analyzed.
