The paper takes the statistical departments of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) as research object, uses SWOT systematic analysis method to thoroughly analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the health statistical work. Based on that, new developmental idea and direction are put forward, which include expanding the depth and breadth of health statistics, constructing an analytical platform of the big data, training interdisciplinary statisticians, etc.
