The paper elaborates the function of medical libraries, analyzes its advantages and existed problems when facing public emergencies. Based on this, it discusses the creative service mechanism in providing services responding to emergencies, including constructing professional intelligence service team, working out emergency plan, constructing communication channels with other medical libraries and media organizations, thus medical library could make contributions when facing public emergencies.
