According to the long tail theory, the paper analyzes the characteristics of head users and tail users in hospital library, discusses the function of long tail theory in converting potential users to important users and puts forward specific measures, including carrying out personalized service, constructing a good platform for interactive communication, enriching resource system and improving the quality of librarians, etc.
