The paper analyzes the deficiency and shortcoming of information retrieval and utilization course in medical college from the angles of both teachers and students, based on the above it puts forward improving advices, including innovating teaching philosophy, launching problem-based learning, integrating with professional courses, paying attention to practical teaching, constructing open teaching platform and so on, so as to improve the quality of information retrieval and utilization course in medical college.
