Taking Jining Medical College Library as an example, the paper carries out questionnaire investigation on teachers and students, so as to understanding current literature demand and collection utilization status. According to the investigation result, it analyzes the tendencies and characteristics of information demand of college and university teachers and students，puts forward some countermeasures to optimize the collection resources construction, including paper literature acquisition principle, electronic literature acquisition principle, strengthening publication and training, etc.
