The paper exams the overall architecture, strategic planning and its changes of medical and health informatization in the USA, explains the collaborative strategy for the development and application of health information standards from two aspects: health information standard development and application. Combining with the health informatization strategy and health information standards development in China, it puts forward the suggestions from 4 aspects:policy making, information standards development, cultivation of talents, coordinated development and communication platform construction.
