The paper introduces the concept of big data and relevant construction contents, and analyzes the progress of researches on medical big data in foreign countries, including the United States, Britain, Australia, etc. It proposes suggestions for the construction of medical big data in China from three aspects: infrastructure construction of medical and health informatization, construction of the platform for medical big data, and the construction of big data organizational system and mechanism.
