Regarding the medical picture archiving and communication systems without the security mechanism, the paper proposes the solution based on the digital watermarking and digital signature technology. The digital watermarking system can validly authenticate such information as the copyright of medical pictures, while the digital signature technology can authenticate such information as the identities of senders and receivers of medical pictures. The paper provides support for the development of telemedicine.
