Based on the introduction of development process of public health information management, two major public health information management methods-the integrated-open management method and distributed- open management method-are summed up, and practices and experiences of the two management methods in the United States, Britain and Canada are introduced. Four shifts of public health information management idea in the big data era are analyzed.
