On the basis of briefly stating the development situation of medical informatics, the paper discusses the social demands for medical informatics profession, states the current situation of the medical informatics by taking construction of medical information engineering profession in some domestic colleges as examples, analyzes the problems of medical informatics education of medical colleges, and puts forward suggestions for the methods about the construction of medical informatics profession by specialized medical colleges.
