To build the ontology-based maternity knowledge base by combining ontology, knowledge base and maternity disease knowledge, the paper elaborates on the concrete building steps, including validating the scope of the ontological domain, enumerating concepts and terms, defining categories, properties and relationship among categories, creating ontology instances and other aspects to promote the multiplexing and sharing of maternity knowledge.
