The paper dilates upon connotation of health information literacy, analyzes the feasibility and advantages of the participation of medical college and university in Western China in public health information literacy education combining with the current situation of public health information literacy of Yunnan province, puts forward corresponding methods and measures, including implementing health information literacy education by making use of network media, making the best of the resources of medical college and university students fully, fostering librarians of the health discipline, providing health information consultation service in an all-round way,etc.
