The paper, by adopting the methods of focus group interview and thematic analysis, conducts in-depth interviews concerning the demands for and problems with wearable medical devices for the elderly with 5 groups of family in Sheffield, England, and performs qualitative analysis on the interview data. It then discusses the challenges confronting wearable medical devices in details from 5 aspects of personalized requirements, technologies, services, laws and information security and puts forward reference significance.
