The paper summarizes the development process of health education in China, and mainly introduces from the aspects of policy, planning, professional education institutions, academic journals and popular science publications,etc. It expounds the public awareness of the health literacy and the attention and development of our country to the improvement of the health literacy level of the whole people, puts forward that the promotion of health education and the improvement of health literacy level of the whole people are conducive to the sustainable development of population health and economic society in China.
