The paper introduces the history and development status of nursing information system in developed European and American countries, and the role it plays in nursing management, special clinical practices, nursing study and education, as well as summarizes its enlightenment for the building of domestic nursing information system, so as to provide references for promoting the development of the consolidated and standardized domestic nursing information system.
