The paper expounds on the current status of the development of biocuration at home and abroad, analyzes the current major challenges of biocuration from two aspects of organization and management mode, quality control and evaluation of evidence sources, puts forward relevant suggestions for the development of biocuration in China, to promote the scientific implementation of biocuration.
