The paper introduces the development situation of Institutional Repository (IR), investigates and analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the building of IR in domestic medical universities and colleges, puts forward some building strategies, including increasing the publicity of open access concept and the promotion of IR, improving service functions and highlighting characteristics, meeting the needs of different groups, etc.
