Purpose/Significance In view of the existing problems in the field of medical information engineering specialty, the paper proposes the training mode of “process integration”, so as to provide references for the development of medical information engineering specialty that meets the demands of the development of new engineering disciplines. Method/Process Combining with the practices of undergraduate education and talent cultivation mode reform of medical information engineering specialty in Sichuan University, the paper analyzes the problems existing in the education of medical information engineering specialty under the background of the construction of new engineering disciplines, and proposes measures for specialty construction. Result/Conclusion The integration mode of “medicine+” and “information+” is conducive to further improving the teacher recruitment and performance assessment systems, innovating specialty training programs and curriculum systems, exploring interdisciplinary and integrated training. Furthermore, it helps Sichuan University build a national first-class undergraduate program with advantages in fields such as medical information systems, medical information security, and the full lifecycle supervision of medical devices.
