Purpose/Significance To analyze the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of nursing care for the elderly at home and abroad, and to put forward the enlightenments and suggestions of improving the development of AI in the field of nursing care for the elderly in China. Method/Process The development of AI in the field of nursing care for the elderly at home and abroad is analyzed from five aspects:policy guarantee, basic data construction, technology development, product design and personnel training. Result/Conclusion The paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions such as focusing on the weak points, strengthening the construction of the system, improving the AI algorithm to realize the product function from the supply side to the demand side, promoting the structured construction of medical data to accelerate data sharing, focusing on the training of nursing informatics talents and promoting the combination of industry, university and research, which are helpful to promote the development of AI in the field of nursing care for the elderly in China.
